Ailsa Craig Lighthouse was designed by Thomas and David A. Stevenson and commissioned in 1886. It has a range of 17 miles. Photos August 11, 2003.

The prominent fog signals were originally powered by a gas engine and later replaced by an oil engine before being discontinued in 1966.
