The arrival on Friday September
21 of the Carnival Corporation liner QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 marked the
official opening of the new Liverpool Cruise Terminal. HRH The Duke
of Kent officiated at the opening ceremony. The Cunard house flag
flew from the central flag pole of the Cunard Building, former
headquarters of the old Cunard Company. This is the QE2's
penultimate visit to the Mersey, her final call before she is
delivered to her new owners for conversion into a hotel will take
place in October 2008. |
