Artemis Berths at Victoria Pier

The the Friesian Sailing Company's barque rigged cruise ship ARTEMIS moves from her Douglas Bay anchorage to Victoria Pier #3 berth in very gusty conditions. Her berthing was assisted in difficult conditions by Laxey Towing Company's small motor tug LONAN. The ARTEMIS was originally built as a whaling ship before conversion to a cargo vessel. At the beginning of the 21st Century she was converted into a cruise ship.  The conversion being so extensive that she appears to be almost new.

The vessel had been scheduled to undertake both morning and afternoon cruises from Douglas but due to adverse conditions these were both cancelled and passengers transferred to the scheduled Sunday afternoon cruise.
