Irish Sea Exiles on the Straits of Gibraltar

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2010

Photographed at day-break whilst outbound from Algeciras bound for Morocco are three well known exiles from the Irish Sea. Unfortunately due to the low light conditions the images are a little grainy due to the need to use a high sensitivity setting.

Seen at 07:12 LE RIF ex GALLOWAY PRINCESS of Sealink British Ferries and later STENA GALLOWAY now LE RIF (12,175grt) operated by IMTC - the International Maritime Corporation of Casablanca, Morocco.

A few minutes later another former vessel that saw some service on the Irish Sea followed behind outbound for the Moroccan coast - Sea Containers' DIAMANT now JAUME III sailing for Balearia.

At 07:32 IBN BATOUTA of Comanav of Tangier (ex ST. CHRISTOPHER / STENA ANTRIM) of Sealink British Ferries and later Stena Line.
