| Lady of Mann - Sunday May 18, 1997. This was the first sailing to Dublin ahead of the commencement of regular services on June 12, 2004. It was operated as a Liverpool Echo promotion. Whilst in Dublin the LADY OF MANN took part in filming the Daniel Day Lewis movie "The Boxer" | On January 5th, 2004 the Lady of Mann concluded her regular operation on the Liverpool - Dublin route. However, she occasionally made guest appearances after the "cats" had taken over. |
| Prior to the acquisition of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company by Sea Containers in 1996, there had been speculation about the introduction of a Liverpool - Dublin service. Following the Sea Containers take over and the operation of a trial service between Fleetwood and Dublin in the autumn of 1996 the dream of a direct Liverpool - Dublin passenger service became a reality. Unfortunately the LADY OF MANN's period of operation was marred in the autumn when she suffered engine damage which saw her out of service for several weeks. However, she was back in service by Christmas. During the Christmas period a special "Christmas Dinner" fare was on offer for just £15. A day return to Dublin and a three course Christmas Dinner included - Those were the days! |
