HSS Stena Discovery & HSS Stena Voyager at Belfast

Photographs © Paul O'Donnell 2007

On Monday 15th October the HSS STENA DISCOVERY was towed from her usual lay up berth on Musgrave Channel to Victoria Channel to allow the HSS linkspans from Harwich and from the Hook of Holland to enter the dry dock. As the STENA DISCOVERY's berth is situated at the mouth of the dry dock it seems necessary for her to be moved if any large objects need enter the dry dock, as previously when the hull of the MSC NAPOLI arrived at Harland and Wolff for breaking a similar procedure was undertaken.

The photographs above show HSS STENA VOYAGER and the laid up HSS STENA DISCOVERY together in Victoria Channel on the arrival of the STENA VOYAGER's 10.00 sailing from Stranraer. This sailing was running slightly behind schedule due to delays cause by a small fire which broke out onboard the vessel the previous day.
