These photographs record the
dismemberment of the RIVERDANCE at Cleveleys on July 02, 2008. Jenny
Williamson writes:
"We arrived on scene just as
the tide was going out, and watched as a queue of different
recovery vehicles and cherry pickers went out to her to start
work.
We then walked out to view
view her over the old wreck of the ABANA, which foundered on 22
December 1894, en route from Liverpool to Florida. Allegedly,
during a storm, the Blackpool Tower (which opened as recently
as 14 May 1894) was mistaken for a lighthouse."
