The Governor Departs on SSC2 Three Hours Late!

Photographs © Jenny Williamson 2005

The departure of the Lieutenant Governor Air Marshall Ian Macfadyen and his wife from the Isle of Man at the end of his term of office on Tuesday September 27, 2005 was delayed by almost three hours when SUPERSEACAT TWO went technical.

The governor was due to leave the island on the 14:00 sailing to Liverpool having arrived at the Sea Terminal an hour earlier. However, SUPERSEACAT TWO didn't get away until 16:55. To mark the occasion Governor's flag was flown on the foremast.
