Ben-My-Chree Displays her Heysham "Ding" at Twelve Quays

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2011

On Monday February 07, the BEN-MY-CHREE came into contact with the quayside at Heysham when berthing during strong winds which resulted in damage to her hull. Her return sailing to Douglas was delayed until 17:30 to enable an inspection of the damage  to take place. Her "Heysham ding" was clearly visible at Twelve Quays on Saturday February 12, 2011. However, compared to some of the bumps and scrapes the original Norse Irish Vikings acquired whilst operating from Brocklebank Dock the damage to the BEN-MY-CHREE appeared somewhat minor.
