James Jackson Grundy Arrives at Alfred Half Tide Basin

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2006

Weaver packet JAMES JACKSON GRUNDY was built by W.J. Yarwood of Northwich in 1948. She is a sister ship to WINCHAM which was preserved at the Merseyside Maritime Museum until WINCHAM was wantonly destroyed. JAMES JACKSON GRUNDY is seen here arriving at Birkenhead with the historic steam tug KERNE which she was propelling across the Mersey for attention at Northwestern Ship Repairers at Bidston.
