Fred. Olsen's Balmoral - First Liverpool Call

Fred Olsen Lines BALMORAL is seen arriving at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal on Sunday October 12, 2008. She had been due alongside around 07:30, however she appeared to spend some time prowling round the Bar Racon until the morning mist cleared - she was finally alongside at Liverpool at around 08:40.

Originally built as the CROWN ODYSSEY by Jos. L. Meyer in 1988 for the Royal Cruise Line which passed to the Kloster Group in 1990. In 1996 she was renamed NORWEGIAN CROWN. In 2000 she was transferred to Orient Lines regaining the CROWN ODYSSEY name. In 2003 she returned to her Norwegian owners and became NORWEGIAN CROWN. She was sold to Fred Olsen Lines in 2007 and lengthened at the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in November 2007 with the insertion of a new 30m mid section module.
