The new Bay Class Landing Ship Dock, RFA CARDIGAN BAY [L3009] made her first Mersey call on Wednesday February14 arriving at day break. She arrived off Cammell Laird at around 06:55 just as dawn broke and entered the yard around 07:45. RFA CARDIGAN BAY had arrived in Liverpool Bay late on Saturday though was not due to enter Cammell Laird until February 14. She was launched from BAe Systems at Govan on Clydeside on April 09, 2005, one day late due to high winds. She has been on trials during 2006 and will be commissioned in 2007.
