HMS IllUSTRIOUS, the final surviving member of the Invincible Class aircraft carriers (Though Deck Cruisers) seen at Devonport South Yard on the morning of October 26, 2011. She was constructed by Swan Hunter in 1982. Since the withdrawal of the Harrier jet aircraft she has been operating in the same role as HMS OCEAN - Landing Platform Helicopter - LPH whilst a study is undertaken to determine which of the two vessels - ILLUSTRIOUS or OCEAN best fulfils the role of an LPH.
