A Visit to HMS Hurworth

On Sunday May 22, 2011, the Merseyside Branch of the World Ship Society visited HMS HURWORTH, a Hunt Class mine counter measures vessel which was visiting Liverpool for the weekend. The Hunt Class are the world's largest glass reinforced plastic ships. The material being used to offer protection against magnetic mines. HMS HURWORTH built by Vosper Thornycroft was launched in 1984 and commissioned in July 1985.
