She is an historic ship - a member of the core collection on the UK National Register of Historic Vessels - but she remains a commissioned ship of the Royal Navy - so, therefore, these photographs have been placed in the Royal Navy section of Irish Sea Shipping. CAROLINE is hidden away, berthed in Harland & Wolff's Alexandra Dock at Belfast and has served as headquarters to the Northern Ireland Royal Naval Reserve since 1924. However, with the redevelopment of much of the H&W site as the Titanic Quarter she is waiting to be discovered by an increasing number of tourists. Built by Cammell Laird and commissioned 1914, the first of six C class cruisers, and now the last surviving warship from the WWI Battle of Jutland.
