The Trailing Suction Dredger CRESTWAY arrived on the Mersey on the morning of Janaury 25, 2009.

The ship was constructed at IHC Merwede yard in Kinderdijk, The Netherlands. She was launched on May 16, 2008.

CRESTWAY is the second of two medium-sized 5,600m³ hoppers that are being built for Boskalis - the sistership, SHOREWAY, was constructed at IHC Beaver Dredgers in Sliedrecht, where she was launched on April 17, 2008. Both ships are 97.5m long, with a hopper capacity of 5,600m³. They will be used in global Boskalis dredging operations, and have been specially designed for dredging and the transportation of sand and sludge.

They are ideal both for working in shallow waters and for the maintenance of harbours, beach replenishment and land reclamation projects.
