A look at the changing terminal facilities for the Isle
of Man Steam Packet Company at Liverpool. During the week of
November 17 the previous terminal site was completely cleared
leaving only the footings for the previous portacabins which formed
the terminal buildings. Though a baggage tractor and some trailers
remained on the site. Several new notices have appeared advising
intending passengers to telephone or use the company's web site for
bookings as there are no administration facilities available at
present. Notices have also appeared advising passengers that
transfer coaches will depart on Saturdays at 12:30 (to Twelve Quays)
for the BEN-MY-CHREE weekend sailings operated from Birkenhead.
However, looking at the available vehicle
marshalling space, given that the old site is soon to be built on
one must wonder just how up to 200 vehicles can be marshalled for
embarkation on the MANANNAN when she enters service in 2009. |
