The original SPIRIT OF PORTSMOUTH was constructed for the Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company plc in 2002 and sister ship to SPIRIT OF GOSPORT also built at the Albion Yard. However, due to a dispute she was never delivered and has been laid up unfinished outside the yard.
