Pier Head Canal Link - First Section Complete

The first section of the Liverpool Pier Head Canal Link and surrounding public realm area was unveiled at the end of October 2008. These views were taken on November 01. The finished appearance looks substantially better than that which appeared in the architect's impressions, the stone work around the canal itself though of modern design is sympathetic to that of the old docks. Interesting design touches - make the newly unveiled area less attractive to the skateboard pests which occasionally proved to be a hazard in the past. A new maritime memorial has also appeared the the ARANDORA STAR - left.
