Buoys, Boat Beacons, Light Floats, Dredgers and Aestus

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2006

Here is a look at some of the essential work vessels employed on the Mersey and its approaches - plus a close look at some of the buoys, lightfloats and boat beacons awaiting refurbishment or a return to position along the Mersey channels. These items are probably  just taken for granted by the many passengers that sail into and out of the Mersey - but they are essential for the running of the port and are maintained at MDHC Brocklebank Dock maintenance base.
