Archive 90: Sundream Arrives at Prince's Landing Stage

Photographs © John H. Luxton 1997 - 2010

At first glance these photographs could be showing a cruise ship arriving at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal Look closer and it will be revealed that the SUNDREAM is arriving at the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's Prince's Landing Stage over 10 years before the Liverpool Cruise Terminal was completed. Occasionally cruise ships berthed at the IoMSPCo stage when such calls did not conflict with Steam Packet movements.

SUNDREAM had been build for Royal Carribean Cruise Lines in 1970 by Wartsilla and sold to Airtours in 1996. She has passed through several owners since then and in 2010 operated as the OCEAN PEARL.

The airtours cruise ship SUNDREAM is seen at Prince's Landing Stage on April 27, 1997 at the conclusion of a short weekend cruise to Dublin.
