Provided by way of a contrast
to the Asgard Memorial at Howth which is located only around 100 miles to the
south is the memorial commemorating the landing of arms for the Ulster Volunteer
Force at Larne Harbour from the SS CLYDE VALLEY in April 1914.
The landing of arms to the UVF
precipitated the landing of arms to the Irish Volunteers at Howth three months
later which is commemorated by a plaque on the Pier at Howth close to the
Lighthouse. <click here>
