Irish Sea Shipping was notified
on August 19 that some Urban Explorers have managed to get on board
the former British Railways steamer DUKE OF LANCASTER which
languishes at Mostyn, Wales.
The photographs have been
posted as part of two message on the Urban Exploration Forum 28 Days
Later - They can be found by clicking on the following links

URBAN EXPLORATION
Irish Sea
Shipping is posting these links as they will be of significant
interest to many visitors to the web site. These links should not be
regarded an endorsement
of unauthorised entry to private property.
It should
be noted,
however, that Urban Explorers follow a strict code of conduct which
involves the recording of abandoned and derelict sites - ensuring
that no damage is done in the process.
There is much
written and photographic material appearing on the internet
recording many sites visited by Urban Explorers that it must be
acknowledged that these people are making a positive contribution to
recording many interesting
aspects of our industrial, transport, local history for posterity
that one cannot ignore their efforts even if some may feel a little
uncomfortable about how they achieve their objectives.
Many of us will
have wandered around abandoned sites ourselves over the years where
there has been open or easy access, these explorers take it a little
bit further and in so doing add to everyone's knowledge and
enjoyment of the past.
Urban
Exploration is probably best described at "Extreme Industrial
Archaeology" - Irish Sea Shipping leaves you to come to your
own conclusions as to ethics of this activity. |
