Cammell Laird 1203 - General San Martin

With thanks to Alison Routledge

A colleague showed me an artefact which I immediately knew would be of great interest to visitors to the Irish Sea Shipping site - A Cammell Laird builder's plate for ship #1203.

The builder's plate from Cammell Laird #1203 that had been bought by her husband in Argentina.

The General San Martin was the first of four similar tankers built by the Birkenhead yard #1204 - General Pueyrredon, #1205 - Presidente Peron and #1206 Eva Peron. General San Martin took its name from the "Liberator of Argentina" - To access short biography of the real General
